The Tactile Knife Co. Redhawk is the second design by our own Taylor Martin.

After years of carrying fixed blades day in and day out, he found that none of the usual suspects quite fit the bill. There were plenty of great options—but never the one. So he set out to build it.

The result is the Redhawk: a no-frills, medium-sized fixed blade built for everyday use. Measuring just under 7 inches overall, it features a continuous curve throughout the handle and blade, designed to naturally drive into cuts. The reverse tanto (or modified sheepsfoot) blade offers a tall profile with a subtle belly and 0.12-inch stock, striking a rare balance between slicing performance and overall strength.

Up front, a scalloped section on the handle allows for a secure pinch grip, giving the user more control in finer tasks. And true to Taylor’s long-held belief about what makes a fixed blade feel right in the hand, the Redhawk pairs a full-size handle with a slightly undersized blade—resulting in a tool that’s compact, capable, and comfortable in daily carry.

    Tactile Knife Co.

Tactile Knife Co. and Tactile Turn are a small-batch machine shop based in Dallas, Texas, where nearly everything is done in-house—from design to finishing. They believe a great knife or pen starts with premium materials and ends with a clean, timeless design that speaks for itself.

Every pen or blade they make is backed by a lifetime warranty—because a well-built tool shouldn’t just last a lifetime. It should be worth handing down.

    attention to detail

Having a totally vertical integration means Tactile can (and does) obsess over very last detail of a knife or pen before the product makes it to your door.

    Take the Redhawk, for example.

Designed by our own Taylor Martin, everything from the grind line and the micro-contouring on the handle went through several rounds of prototyping to get it just right before the machines ever turned on. And even then, there were dozens of Redhawks sacrificed to get the grind and other small details just right.
