Like a trusty old tool
Natural micarta handles were an obvious choice for the Camp Mule. It maintains that warm in-hand feel, solid grip, and it will develop a patina over time.
The micarta used in these knives is pretty unique with coloration variation between all of the handles, so no two Camp Mules look exactly alike.
Like any tool steel knife, the A2 steel used in the Camp Mule blade will require a small amount of maintenance–cleaning and oil after use. It will also develop a nice patina over time, which will help protect against future rust.
-
Wide Flat Grind Blade
The Camp Mule has a wide, slicey, drop point blade with a full flat grind and a lot of belly, making it a great utility blade for around camp. It can handle things like splitting kindling, food preparation, carving, processing game, and more.
-
A2 Tool Steel
A2 tool steel was a clear choice. It offers that perfect balance of toughness and edge retention while still being easy to touch up in the field. It's proven, reliable, and handles real-world use the way a fixed blade should. The patina it develops over time also makes it unique with its own story.
-
Leather Sheath & Clip
The Camp Mule comes with a handmade leather sheath from JRE Industries, which lets the knife ride deep in the pocket using the included UltiClip. However, with standard eyelet spacing, you can bring your own clip and adapt it to your carry style.
